Qatar British Business Forum

Qatar British Business Forum (QBBF) was established in 1992 as a platform for business people to meet on a regular basis. The 400 members represent a broad range of business disciplines, all of whom have links with companies in the United Kingdom.

In 2015, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh, participated in the inaugural Qatar British Business Forum Annual Awards. Since then the organisation has provided Orbis with a platform to vital raise awareness.

In 2016, Paul Paterson, committee member of QBBF, visited Orbis sight saving programmes in India on behalf of the Chairman. He visited our partner hospitals' facilities in Chitakroot and Vrindavan to see our work in action.

In 2017, Emad Turkman, Chairman of QBBF visited an Orbis Flying Eye Hospital programme in Chattogram, Bangladesh as an Ambassador for Orbis to view our work first-hand.

That same year, HRH the Duchess of Edinburgh and Orbis staff attended the QBBF awards dinner in Qatar, where the British Royal was invited to hand out their yearly award and speak about our work, raising much needed awareness within the community.

Over the years, the forum organised for its members visit of the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital during its stopover in Doha.
