The video was filmed next to Lake Hawassa, the shores of which are home to Tertiary Eye Care Unit The Duchess visited the day before. The beautiful view is one of the first things those receiving sight saving surgery for conditions such as cataract see.

World Sight Day Celebrations

The Duchess of Edinburgh took part in World Sight Day celebrations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as Global Ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness. The theme this year focused the world’s attention on the importance of eye care in the workplace and encouraging employers to make eye health initiatives standard practice.
